Who are we?

Caffeine freelance is the trading name of Gareth Haman. Gareth has over 10 years' in-house experience in publishing, both print and online, and has worked as a freelance copyeditor, proofreader and writer for the past 5 years for a wide range of clients.

What do we specialise in?

Our background is in science and technology publishing, having worked for Current Science Group, Elsevier Science, Macmillan, Springer and Blackwell Wiley in both full-time and freelance capacities on books, journals, and also in the role of a production project manager. We have experience in copyediting, proofreading, writing and publishing for both print and online media across the fields of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, general science, consumer technology, video games and many others. We have also worked on general non-fiction titles and some fiction work.

Not at all! We are happy to consider any project, big or small, from any background. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, and in instances where we feel we would be unsuitable for a project we can put you in touch with other freelance suppliers such as technical writers, specialists in thesis editing and translators.
