| Who are we? Caffeine is the trading name of Gareth Haman, and associates who may be subcontracted from time to time to work on specific projects. Gareth has over ten years' experience in publishing, working for some of the biggest names in the industry and covering a wide range of styles and content for both print and online publishing. What do we specialise in? Our background is in science and technology publishing, having worked for Current Science Group, Elsevier Science and Blackwell Publishing Ltd. in both full-time and freelance capacities on books (such as Macromolecular Structures), high-profile science journals (such as The FEBS Journal) and also in the role of a production project manager. Therefore we have a broad and deep experience of the particular requirements and rigours of scientific copyediting, proofreading, writing and publishing for both print and online media across the fields of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, ecology, genetics, molecular biology and many others. In addition, we supply editorial services and articles to a wide range of other media, broadly in the area of, but not limited to, technology, videogames and consumer electronics. Some of our other roles and clients include: Writing news, reviews, conference reports and generally filling the role of Deputy Editor for popular video games news and reviews website www.gamerseurope.com Sub-editing on issues 11 & 12 (2007) for N.Revolution magazine Proofreading and editing of articles for British Medical Journal group publications Editorial work on textbooks for Bookcraft Ltd. Editorial work on textbooks for Chandos Publishing Ltd. Editing and proofreading of articles for BioMed Central Editing of news articles for Nature Network (London) Work on correcting English language on legal documents translated from Finnish (link unavailable due to restricted content) Editing and proofreading of brochures and websites for a major UK charitable organisation (link unavailable due to embargo) ...and we also designed and produced this website! My project doesn't fall in any of those areas. Does that mean you wouldn't be interested in working on it? Not at all! Good grammar, punctuation, attention to detail and a flair for writing clear, concise copy can be applied to any project, big or small, from any background. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and would be happy to consider any project, and we are also regularly in touch with other freelance suppliers such as technical writers and translators - so the chances are if we can't help you ourselves, we will be able to put you in touch with someone who can. Please do get in touch via our contacts page with any queries, and for more specific information on what services we can offer you and your project, please see our services page. And finally...is that really a caffeine molecule in your logo? Certainly is! if you're interested, why not take a look here for more information?
